LACK OF EXERCISE ...JUST A GOOD REMINDER

Movement is life , inactivity is death. We live in a push button society which is sending us to the grave years before our time. Exercise will improve the tone of your muscles and blood vessels , changing them from weak tissue to strong tissue.

Exercise will increase the efficiency of your heart in several ways. It will grow stronger and pump more blood with each stroke and it will lower your pulse rate and lower high blood pressure. Walking outdoors in the fresh air and sunshine is the simplest and best exercise one can do. Low impact exercise such as walking, cycling , swimming or hiking is more beneficial than high impact exercises such as jogging , basketball, weight lifting etc.

Less active and less fit people have a greater risk of developing high blood pressure

A sedentary lifestyle over several years is associated with increased risk for type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and premature mortality

Within the first weeks of no exercise : The body starts to undergo biological changes in muscle size that can lead to weight gain.

Over the long-term: Physical inactivity can lead to greater risks for major health problems, from heart disease and diabetes to early death.

Symptoms of being out of shape include fatigue, shortness of breath, joint pain, and poor posture

According to the charity Just Stand, the following thresholds determine a person’s risk of developing health problems due to sitting:

  • Low risk: Sitting for less than 4 hours per day.
  • Medium risk: Sitting for 4–8 hours per day.
  • High risk: Sitting for 8–11 hours per day.
  • Very high risk: Sitting for more than 11 hours per day.

The CDC considers 150 minutesTrusted Source of moderate activity per week adequate to lower the risk of some health conditions associated with a sedentary lifestyle.
