ANEMIA ? WATCH YOUR DIET...

How can we improve our iron deficiency? By eating good sources of natural foods high in iron. For example : gram for gram, blackstrap molasses is over 3 times higher in iron than liver. Foods that especially good are fresh raw fruits and vegetbales which are higher in Vit C. Vit. C is needed in the digestive track for the absoprtion of iron.

Excesses of calcium and phosphate salts inhibit the absorption of iron from the intestines . Milk is high on both of these nutrients and should be avoided as it contains very little iron and tends to bind iron present in the other foods.

Dr . Walker , the author of Raw Vegetables Juices, says that the iron in fresh raw spinach maybe utilized 100% but only 1/5 of that or less would be usable in cooked spinach. Some other foods high in iron are: almonds , uncooked kelp, dried prunes , raisins, whole wheat flour and cornmeal.

Some other ways to help improve anemia are: Daily sunbathing as the skin can handle as possible , especially the  eyes    (no glasses) this increases Vit D which assist the body in building blood, exercises stimulate the bone marrow to produce blood cells and is one of the most important treatment for anemia. Absorption of iron from the intestine is promoted by exercise. Hot and cold showers are also beneficial.

Anemic people should rest or nap during the day and get adequate sleep at night, Two herbs which are especially good for anemia are Dandelion and Yellow Dock, use as a tea. Bring distilled water to a boil, turn off heat , add 1-1 1/2 cup per 8oz. let steep for 20 minutes or longer , then strain and drink.
