Santa Clause Is Coming to Bring A Friend Friday

On Friday December 9, 2011 Dr. John Bellomo will have a very special guest in his office. After all, with the big day just around the corner, Santa makes sure he is in top condition. While he is there, he will visit with all of Dr. John’s little friends. So bring a friend and visit with Santa Friday from 3 to 6:00PM.

Holiday Hint: There’s still time to take a picture and have it made into Christmas cards to share with your family.

Lancer Pride Food Pantry Grand Opening

Lockhart has recently opened the Lancer Pride Pantry on campus. The purpose of this program is to meet the nutritional needs of children during the non-school hours, specifically weekends. It will allow families of students that are experiencing hardship to receive emergency food baskets that are filled with non-perishable food items that can be used to meet their non-school hour nutritional needs. They will also have basic hygiene and baby items available as needed. For more information on donating or benefiting from this program, contact Mrs. Cheryl Johnson at 407-296-5120 x 2302

What do growing worms and healthy living have to do with the Bellomo Family Chiropractic Life Center? According to Dr. John Bellomo, everything.

Chiropractic adjustments are an important step toward improving your health but to take your health to the highest level, you have to make lifestyle changes. That is why Dr. John and his staff encourage organic eating, exercise, maintaining proper weight and avoiding unnecessary drugs and medical procedures.

Many of our practice members are seriously wanting to improve what they eat and how they live but they need help. That is why we offer health lessons on so many different topics.

For those of you who are improving their organic gardening skills, our next lesson will be on vermiculture. I am sure you will be surprised to know that worms do a lot more for your garden than just improve the soil. Please join us for this very informative meeting.

Death By Hospital

Dr. John Bellomo has been warning people about the pervasive use of prescription medications and of hospital stays for many years. Obviously, there are major emergencies where you can’t avoid such a trip but the more you adhere to health promoting practices, the better your chances of avoiding it.

Did you know that according to the World Health Org. “each year in the United States, 1.7 million infections are acquired in hospital, leading to 100,000 deaths, a far higher rate than in Europe where 4.5 million infections cause 37,000 deaths”?

“If you were admitted to hospital tomorrow in any country… your chances of being subjected to an error in your care would be something like 1 in 10. Your chances of dying due to an error in health care would be 1 in 300,” Liam Donaldson, the WHO’s newly appointed envoy for patient safety, told a news briefing.

Something is clearly amiss with our system of health care and it won’t be fixed by the current trend in Washington to force everyone into a broken system. You must take responsibility for your own heath before you become another sad statistic.
