Cell phones, once considered a luxury item, are now a mainstay of modern life. Most parents see them as a crucial part of keeping kids safe as they can contact or be contacted day or night. While this solves some problems, it raises others.

For today’s teen, using their phone to send text messages is a way of life. Because text messages are seen as less intrusive than phone calls, many teens would rather text than talk. They rely on it as instant communication when talking is taboo and email too slow. In short texting is very popular.

Consider these recently posted facts by Christina Warren on the Mashable Blog,

“75% of teens have cellphones, up from 45% back in 2004.
Thirty-three percent of teens send more than 100 texts per day.
Teenage boys send an average of 30 text messages per day and girls send an average of 80.”

Because so many teens are texting, it is becoming common for them to experience joint problems at young ages. Warn your child about the dangers of continuous texting. Let them know that if they have pain or swelling in their joints, it is serious. In addition to obvious problems with hands and wrists, Chiropractors are noticing serious spinal changes as well. The forward head position that most people assume as they use electronic devices puts considerable pressure on their spine and over time can change the curvature of their neck. Did you know that each inch of forward head posture can increase the weight of your head on your spine by an additional 10 pounds? That means if your teen looks down as he texts, it adds 20 to 30 pounds of pressure on his neck. Over time, this added pressure can flatten or reverse the normal C curve in his neck leading to decreased immune function, neck pain, headaches, shoulder pain or numbness and tingling in his arms. Even worse, this deformity in the spine pulls the rest of the spine out of alignment affecting every system in the body. Clearly we need to warn our teens about what they are doing to themselves.

No one expects teens to give up their phones but parents should ask them to think about how much they are using them and consider cutting back. They should also think about their posture and how it might be affecting them over time. Our world has changed and we have to learn how to be safe as we adapt to it.

The first phase of this monkey study was published three months ago in the prestigious medical journal Neurotoxicology, and focused on the first two weeks of life when the vaccinated monkeys received a single vaccine for Hepatitis B. The results, which you can read for yourself HERE, were disturbing. Vaccinated monkeys, unlike their unvaccinated peers, suffered the loss of many reflexes that are critical for survival.

About 70% of our practice is made up of people like yourself who are looking for a method to battle stress. As many have discovered, the secret to optimal function is a healthy spine. Research shows that chiropractic specific adjustments reduce stress on spinal nerves, thus producing an increase in lymph flow/white blood cell production. This improved function of the immune system results in an increased sense of well being and balance.

What Is Chiropractic?

Example of lumbar spine misalignment before and after treatment.

The chiropractic profession is a unique part of the health care system. Their premise deals with establishing proper communication between the brain (which controls every part of the body) and every organ, tissue and cell in the body. Improper communication (interference) of messages through the spinal cord causes improper function of the body. In turn, dysfunction can lead to disease or pain. Chiropractors are the only health care professionals who look for and correct these interferences.

LOVING – for the sake of loving

As Chiropractic enters it’s second century of practice, it behooves each of us to ponder the question, “Why has chiropractic survived?” What is it that has enabled this profession, which had it’s beginnings in 1895 with a magnetic healer named D.D. Palmer, to not only survive but to thrive over the years and through today’s changing and difficult healthcare times?

What is it that has enabled chiropractic to withstand the blatant and organized opposition by the very powerful AMA to become the largest drugless, alternative, natural healthcare system in the U. S. today?

The answer lies in this, “Flexability and Inflexability”. Chiropractic has been flexible in it’s outer aspects while it has held true to the principle upon which it was founded.

Chiropractic’s founding principle and history is why it has such a stronghold on the natural healing mindset of Americans going into the 21st century.
On September 10,1895; Chiropractic’s founder, D.D. Palmer, was introduced to a deaf janitor, Harvey Lillard. Mr. Lillard expressed to Dr. Palmer that he had heard a popping sound in his neck, followed by a total loss of hearing. Dr. Palmer postulated that if Mr. Lillard could hear before the pop in his neck, the sound must have equated to an injury to one of the vertebra. Dr. Palmer touched his neck and found that a bone was sticking out of place. So he deduced, that this out of place bone could be putting pressure on the spinal chord, causing a blockage in the natural flow of life-giving brain messages. Dr. Palmer placed Mr. Lillard on a table and gave a gentle thrust into the area of the misplaced vertebra (subluxation). Miraculously, his hearing came back 100%.

This chiropractic principle of removing interferance, allowing the body’s inherant natural healing powers to move to and from the vital organs, glands, and muscles of the body; is called an adjustment. When this natural flow of electrical- chemical signals are unimpeded, the body is then able to communicate with the brain, and the brain to communicate with the body, allowing God’s natural laws to take over in the balance of the human body.

What has happened in our society over the last century is that we have decided that “man-made” laws are more organized and work better than the universal laws governed by our Creator, which were orchestrated through nature. So, this opened the door for “man-made” treatments of disease, instead of God’s natural blueprints for proper lifestyles and prevention of dis-ease.

Something to think about.

Every now and then I have to stop in my tracks to think of what an amazing piece of material this human body is! Did you ever stop to think of what other mechanism with which you are familiar with could possibly compare to it?

Sometimes, yes, we are prone to take our bodies for granted and not give thanks to the Master for His miraculous masterpiece: The Beat of LIFE in our body!

We get up in the morning, eat a hasty breakfast, dash off to work and work till noon, eat another hasty meal, on the job again. At five we head off for home and eat yet another hasty meal and many times out till the wee hours of the morning to endlessly repeat the cycle.

The massive conditioning of technology has clearly sold us a deceptive bill of goods. The more technology, the more free time you’ll have with your family and loved ones, the less stress you’ll experience, and the more peace you’ll attain.

My experience has been a total reversal of the promises we’ve been given. We live a truly whirlwind life these busy and troubled days. Our minds are stretched, our bodies are tired, and our energies depleted…We are worn out in every sense imaginable.

In the words of Addison, “Though we seem grieved at the shortness of life, in general we are wishing every period of it at an end. The minor longs to be older, then to be a man of business; then to make up an estate, then to arrive at honors, then to retire.” What a sad view of one’s fullness or should I say emptiness of life.

You and I are not our own, we belong to God. God allows every breath of air we take and every beat of our heart we experience. This body of yours and mine is a complex, complete working unit, a self repairing unit and a perfect functioning unit.

To do this it must have a proper environment, proper nourishment, and uninterrupted energy flow over the nervous system between brain and body (organs, glands, and muscles) at all times.

Again, I must mention the importance of being in a proper nurturing environment, surroundings conducive to good working and relaxing conditions with plenty of rest, napping being included. Proper nourishment for each individual is unique, but a well rounded whole organic diet at regular intervals through the day is important.

The other essential is uninterrupted energy flow over the nervous system. This means that the spine must be free of pressure. Nerves carry an energy, an electrical chemical charge that knows exactly where to go and exactly what to do when the charge gets to its destination.

These intelligent impulses communicate between brain and body at all times 100% of the time. Without this vital energy, tissues and organs will not function normally. The individual may complain of pain, shortness of breath, swelling parts of the body or many other symptoms. A person may experience a pressure on the nerves to the low back or leg. That person may have pain, severe pain, or even paralysis. A pressure could be made on nerves to any or many organs. Each organ and gland is supplied with impulses from the brain. The nerves can be likened to a wiring system as they convey energy from the brain where it is produced to the tissues of our body.

It takes a split second for you to think you will wiggle your large toe to move, then the impulse returns to the brain giving you the realization that the large toe moved. Without this perfect, God-created nervous system, you just couldn’t wiggle the large toe no matter how hard you tried!

The same thought may be applied to any part of the body. For example, after you have eaten your breakfast, it is necessary that more energy is given to the stomach, pancreas, and intestines to take care of this food in its digestive process. Suppose a pressure due to a spinal bone being out of place was on nerves to the stomach, pancreas, or other digestive organs. They need more energy. The demand is made. The nerve has pressure so the energy cannot be passed over the nerves and the stomach or pancreas or intestines cannot carry out their normal digestive functions. That individual will have symptoms. There may be bloating, sour stomach pain, light headedness, or they may just be plain miserable after eating. As a consequence the nutrient intake is a very limited loss of weight and a gradual loss of life and health will follow. The world’s solution: Take out our health insurance card with an expectation of receiving free drugs and chemicals so we can mask the body’s inborn warning system-SYMPTOMS! Do these symptoms have a purpose?

What is a symptom anyway?

Symptoms are the body’s adaptations by the God-given innate intelligence that resides within the brain to an improperly functioning body. The body’s inherent healing mechanism will adapt as best as it can, but interrupted nerve energy prevents full and optimum function. Only doctors of chiropractic have studied and trained to address the vertebral subluxation or spinal produced nerve pressure. Other types of “health care providers” are in every sense of the word “disease care providers not Health Care Providers!”

Their system of healing is a model that teaches to wait for disease or pain to blossom, then they will treat that symptom not searching for the cause of why that symptom blossomed to begin with. This equates to an Insurance Driven Dis-ease Care Nothing to do with Caring For Health “healthcare.” Other types of healthcare providers may manipulate joints, but only doctors of chiropractic have a scientific process for adjusting spinal bones to restore them to their correct alignment to remove nerve pressure and increase LIFE Flow!

The #1 medical myth is that high blood pressure is a disease. Let me ask you this: if what you thought was true turned out not to be, how soon would you want to know? If you’re like me, the answer is immediately.

DID YOU KNOW…

High blood pressure is a symptom – not a disease.

Your blood pressure naturally gets higher as you get older.

Medical treatments for high blood pressure are ineffective and fraught with dangerous side effects that kill thousands of people every year.

Not only are the medications dangerous, toxic, and expensive but they SHORTEN life span not prolong it.

HOW DO THEY DECEIVE US?

The concept of treating high blood pressure with drugs is sold to well-meaning physicians through manipulated studies. They are so well covered up and made complicated that it takes a medical researcher with a specialty in statistics to figure it all out. Since the average physician is not a medical statistician, they read only the portions of studies the drug companies want them to. Since their profession has made drug treatment of “high blood pressure” the GOLD STANDARD — you pay the price with your health and your money.

The price for this scam is in the tens of billions of dollars and who knows how many lives. It is growing exponentially as thousands of “free” blood pressure screenings keep magically popping up – the perfect way to keep the public dumb, duped, and in line for more drugs.

This shift toward making blood pressure an illness was a result of the Framingham study which made a radical change in medical philosophy. The study that experts reported to the medical community was that the higher the systolic blood pressure (the first number), the higher the death rate. Graphs were skewed, statistics were altered, data points were fictionized, and age adjusted death rates (which radically change the Framingham results) were simply ignored and relative end results were reported, rather than absolute results and statistics.

The Real Truth is So, So Different

For those who are skilled enough and take the time to really decipher all the medical statistics, the truth is very different. In a realistic interpretation of the results of the meta-analysis (looking at everything) of blood pressure drug trials and studies, no measurable difference could be found for protection from stroke, cardiovascular disease, congestive heart failure (CHF), or mortality. In fact, in several categories patients did slightly worse on drugs versus placebo. What the medical community was not told after the Framingham study was that collateral damages from the drugs was so extreme that up to fifty percent of people quit the drugs after three years.

The astounding truth is that increased lifespan could not be achieved beyond a couple of weeks, even after thirty years on drugs! When you understand high blood pressure, you can understand why. ‘High blood pressure’ is a symptom. When your body raises blood pressure, there is a good reason. That reason is almost always to maintain a good supply of oxygen to keep you alive!

The sledge-hammer approach of using drugs to weaken the heart, dilate arteries or veins, or increase urination, (the only thing that drugs do), rarely does drugs do anything of overall value! But big money and corporate board members are calling the shots. When lowering blood pressure by five points can bring in billions of dollars, by all means do it – even if benefits are absent, people are hurt, and the drugs transform you into an invalid that is sent to the retirement home so you can die in the system that sent you there!

Causes of High Blood Pressure

Cause is the one thing medicine simply does not consider. By their own admission, they consider 95% of high blood pressure to be of unknown cause. Yet there are real reasons for high blood pressure:

1.) The first is the natural rise in blood pressure as you age. Remember when grandma died at age 95 from old age with a blood pressure of 300/150 (normal for the world is 120/80) for 40 years?

2.) Surely a high percentage of the 95% of high blood pressure cases with “unknown cause” is caused by ‘other prescription drugs.’

All kinds of drugs cause high blood pressure:

-Pain and arthritis drugs like Vioxx and Arava

-Migraine headache drugs life Axert

-Incontinence drugs like Ditropan and Detrol

-NSAIDS like Motrin and Aleve.

Really – the list goes on and on even if doctors never discuss these as a cause of high blood pressure.

3.) Remember the no salt diet called DASH (dietary approaches to stop hypertension)? It was designed to treat another “cause” of high blood pressure – SALT. It was a typical low-fat, low-cholesterol, low-salt diet. Its results were non-existent. The trial results were so laughable that it’s not worth printing – except to say that humans are still listening to their physicians who are prescribing it.

4.) Overweight is a cause of high blood pressure. By definition, the heart must pump harder to get blood, oxygen, and nutrients to more body area. And your blood vessels do not like high blood levels of insulin – as in Type 2 diabetes (adult onset). So overweight and high insulin levels are directly related to high blood pressure. Indeed, a twenty pound weight loss will lower blood pressure six points! These results alone are better than DASH and most drug therapies.

Blood pressure lowering results with weight loss are better with a low-carb diet with no wheat. This lowers circulating insulin levels. Then you add weight bearing exercise, the results are even better as the cells become more sensitive to insulin, allowing for an even further drop in elevated blood insulin.

5.) Stress is a major cause of high blood pressure. Emotional hypertension must be given over to a compassionate and omnipotent God. This God of mercy, grace, and love is the God that told Joshua, “you shall meditate in it (the Bible) day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it” (Joshua 1:8). Also, anti-anxiety training will lower blood pressure. In fact, deep breathing alone has been shown to be as effective as drugs for decreasing blood pressure.

6.) Liver and kidney problems and overload can cause high blood pressure (hepatic, portal, or renal hypertension). These cases usually have a diastolic (second number) change. Two 3-week liver/kidney detoxification schedules can ease the load and strengthen the kidneys and liver. This will help normalize blood pressure as effectively as drugs.

7.) If just your systolic (first number) is high, you usually have clogged arteries and possibly liver problems (artherosclerotic hypertension). Two three-week liver/kidney detoxification schedules are in order. If you also have gallbladder problems, or you have had your gallbladder removed, you may need to do a liver/gallbladder flush.

8.) If you have generally high blood pressure, like 140/90 or 160/95 with both sets of numbers, you will generally be diagnosed with benign hypertension. This can be caused by hardening of the arteries of older age patients, or by a combination of any or all of the other causes. These cases are the most common when your body is simply trying to get more blood, oxygen, and nutrients to your cells through less elastic arteries.

How To Simply Reduce High Blood Pressure

By Treating The Cause

In almost every case of high blood pressure you need to maintain proper weight, stop smoking and drinking alcohol, cut back on carbohydrates (starches and sugars), and wheat, drink plenty of pure, soft water, and exercise regularly. You will also need to feed your blood vessels, glands, and heart with what they need to heal and maintain proper strength, force, and elasticity. Besides nutrients, intake certain organic, whole phytonutrients and the reduction of the atlas subluxation of the spine may be needed to accomplish these goals.

Let’s look at the new chiropractic research that was recently presented on Good Morning America. The study showed that the abnormal position of the neck vertebrae, primarily the atlas vertebrae, is absolutely associated with relative ischemia of the brainstem circulation and increased blood pressure. The study amazingly revealed that a specific chiropractic adjustment of a misaligned vertebrae was directly associated with reduced arterial pressure. This exhaustive documented pilot study tests the hypothesis that correcting a vertebral subluxation of the atlas vertebrae reduces and maintains lowering blood pressure. The primary results were noted throughout the entire study. However, something of remarkable amazement to the medical physicians involved in compiling these results were this…NO adverse effects were recorded. That means according to this study which was controlled and organized by Dr. George Bakris, M.D. at Rush Presbyterian St. Lukes, one of Chicago’s largest teaching hospitals receiving a chiropractic “specific” adjustment has no side effects.

Don’t Be Fooled by Hospital Sponsored FREE Screenings. Studies show that for most people, blood pressure drugs are a dead-end for the long term. Most folks simply can’t stay on them. And their results are modest at best. They do not perform as reported by the hospitals. And they do not stop heart attacks, strokes, or increase longevity but for the most severe high blood pressure cases. The ratcheting down of normal blood pressure numbers from 140-90 to 110-70 is simply disease mongering (telling healthy people they are permanently ill). This is accomplished via screenings and reporting of skewed, partial, slanted, and biased data by various medical, media, and even governmental agencies. Everyone would do well to use blood pressure drugs? This is the #1 medical myth. It’s all blatant deception and it is enough to raise your blood pressure!
